was born in Nagoya (Japan) in 1992 and completed his master's degree (concert singing) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich under Prof. Sylvia Greenberg, whose repertoire ranges from the Baroque to the present day. However, he is primarily dedicated to the sacred works of Johann Sebastian Bach, with which he has already performed in numerous concerts in Japan.
He can also look back on solo engagements in the oratorios of Handel and Haydn and in numerous masses by Mozart and Schubert. In 2022, Shimon Yoshida sang Bach's Mass in B minor under the direction of René Jacobs as a substitute tenor soloist. In October 2023, he took over the role of Rossini's Stabat Mater in the Berlin Philharmonie at short notice for the tenor soloist who was ill. 
In 2018, the Japanese tenor won a special prize at the Ⅸ Concorso Salvatore Licitra (Milan).
In the field of opera, he has appeared as Manteau from Rameau's Les Paradins, Nemorino from L'elisir d'amore and Ferrando from Così fan tutte.
He has been a regular guest of the renowned Bach Collegium Japan under the direction of Masaaki Suzuki since 2022. Among other things, he has sung various Bach cantatas and Handel's Messiah with Suzuki. In 2024, he will sing the role of the Evangelist in the St. John Passion for the Bach Collegium Japan.
Shimon Yoshida has been a permanent member of the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin since March 2020 and lives in Berlin with his family.
